Excerpts from the March 12 meeting of the Odebolt Betterment Committee
OBC: Trees will be planted in April using funds from the Mid-American tree grant. A berm, and landscaping around the enclosed shelter house are planned for City Park. Plans for a downtown fountain have been put on hold for now.
RURAL SCHOOL: Work is progressing with a new entrance door, electrical, paint and new flooring. The Rural Legacy Project is planning on staging the school for Creek Days. They are sending invitations out for the “Sneak Peak” on Friday June 14th and have invited many dignitaries for their June 15th open house to be held at 10:30 a.m..
PIONEER HOME: The Questors have set April 14 for their Omelet Brunch at the Community Building. The 4-H group will help prepare the omelets. They are looking for volunteers. A basket raffle is also being planned to help raise funds for the Pioneer Home.
ODEBOLT AREA TOURISM BOARD: The new board is checking into having brochures made of attractions in the area and placing these brochures in visitor centers in Iowa.

The next OBC Meeting will be held Tuesday, April 9th, 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Community members are invited to sit in and see what is happening with the OBC!
