‘Foundation Follies’ set for Saturday
The O-A/BC-IG Dollars for Scholars Foundation will hold a talent show and service auction, “The Foundation Follies,” on Saturday, March 9, 7 p. m., at the high school.
Becky Ricklefs, coordinator for the event, reports, “I am very excited about how the event is coming together. We should have a nice variety of talent from adults and students of all ages.
“Talent includes dance acts, vocal performances from elementary and high school students, piano solos and more. There will be a comedy skit by the Dollars for Scholars’ board members and a synchronized swimming routine by Mason Fleenor and friends which should prove to be very interesting,” Rickefs said.
Students have also donated their time and talents to the service auction. Some of the items being auctioned are baked items, car detailing and yard work.
Ricklefs said, “Not only is this event a fund-raiser to raise funds for scholarships, it raises awareness of the importance of higher education and gives students an opportunity to volunteer their time and talents. Having students and community members work together toward a common goal, while raising funds, makes for a great event.”
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets are available at all school of ices and at the door.
