3-12-13 News

Thank you letter

Thank you so very much for the obituary copies on-line.  I found 34 obituaries on-line that I did not have.  Where can I send a donation for the hard work your group is doing?

OBC February meeting minutes (excerpts)

Rural Legacy Project
Work is progressing nicely in the school, with new walls, electrical, paint and new flooring. The Rural Legacy has many things planned for their Open House during Odebolt Creek Days

Pioneer Home
We are working on a beautification grant thru Keep Iowa Beautiful.
Jane Hogue (of Prairie Pedlar) is putting a landscaping plan together for this project.
Spring Plans:  Bryce Hustedt’s crew will begin shingling, Mark Horsley will begin with the replacement of the back or and outside wall repair. Joel will bring in black dirt and seed around the house in the spring.  John Noyd will be contacted on the security system.
The Questors have set April 14 for their Omelet Brunch at the Community Center to raise funds for the Pioneer Home.
A bill from Odebolt Lumber for shingle supplies will be paid out of the Renze and Sac Co. Endowment grants.

Mid-American tree grant
Trees have been ordered to be delivered sometime between April 1 thru 15.  Eric Miller and his class would like to help with this project.

The next OBC meeting will be Tuesday Mar. 12 at 6:00 pm at City Hall.

Go Further with Ford Night

Larry Beckman Motors Inc. of Odebolt IA. is pleased to present the Mat Rats with a donation of $500.00 to support the youth wrestling program.

These funds were made possible during the “Go Further with Ford Night” event that was held at Larry Beckman Motors in November. On display were the new 2013 Ford vehicles, hot dogs and chips were served and a chance to win a trip to an American Idol taping was available to all that registered for the event.

To present the $500.00 check is Randy Veit of Larry Beckman Motors to Brodie Veit of the Mat Rats.
