Education Foundation

March 8, 2012
(from the Odebolt-Arthur Education Foundation Blog)

What is our Education Foundation as opposed to the
OA-BCIG Scholarship Foundation?

The difference is that the OA-BCIG Scholarship Foundation is strictly for scholarships given out to the graduating seniors.

The OA Education Foundation is for materials, equipment, projects, etc. to enhance the learning opportunities for ALL students, helping out the district beyond what the school district's general funds allow. Therefore, we are helping all students while they are in school as opposed to scholarships to help pay for college for the kids graduating. We are definately very separate entities, and both very worthy causes.

Missing Statue

We seem to be missing something from the Odebolt City Park. If any one knows where this statue is, or if you know who has it please either return to the pedestal at the City Park or leave it at City Hall ... no questions asked, we would just like to have it back.

Card Shower for Mrs. H's 100th Birthday

Many of us know Mrs. H., an excellent piano teacher to hundreds of Odebolt children from the 1940's until sometime in the 1970's.  Her tiny studio was downtown on the west side of Maple Street, north of Second Street.

She'll celebrate her 100th birthday on Friday, March 16.  Let's surprise her with a card shower!  Please jot down some of your memories to send with your card.  Tell her your news.  Write with a bold hand or type with a large font, please.

Here's her address:
Please pass the word about Mrs. H's milestone birthday!

Since 1987, a total of 149,000 sandwiches have been sold with 2011 being the best year so far with 12,000 hoagies sold.

This is the major money-maker each year for the athletic department. The funds are used to purchase uniforms, equipment, etc., for all athletes.

MBW Products to be Featured on Upcoming Episode of American Farmer

Odebolt, IA, March 05, 2012 --(PR.com)-- MBW Products proudly announces their participation in an upcoming episode of American Farmer.

MBW Products, maker of the ProTrakker Hydraulic Hitches, provides farmers with the most cutting edge technology available in the field of precision agriculture. The ProTrakker Hydraulic Hitch is poised to save farmers time, energy and money while maximizing crop yield.

This particular segment will focus on the practice of implement steering, and how it is changing the world of precision agriculture. Viewers will be taken behind the scenes and learn about the many high-tech features of the ProTrakker Hydraulic Hitch.

“Our experience in agriculture led to the development of the ProTrakker Hydraulic Hitches. When sub-inch accuracy is required, ProTrakker is the answer,” says Cory Miller, MBW Products. The ProTrakker Hydraulic Hitch automatically adjusts to correctly steer implements on slopes, contour rows and variable soils. The ProTrakker Hydraulic Hitches keep implements from swaying into crop rows and causing expensive, unsightly damage. ProTrakker is in a category of its own and adding it to your precision outfit boosts your accuracy to an unmatched standard, no matter the landscape.

“The ProTrakker is one of the more impressive pieces of machinery that I’ve come across,” said Shirley White, senior producer for American Farmer. “I can’t wait for viewers to be exposed to just how technologically advanced the world of agriculture is becoming.”   Read more about it.
