Music Boosters collect donations for new choir robes
The O-A/BC-IG Music Boosters are currently raising funds for new choir robes for the “black” and “purple” choirs at the high school.
The current 55 purple O-A robes are 38 years old and the 95 black BC-IG robes are 17 years old. The Boosters are seeking donations to help reduce the cost of the more than 130 new robes needed. One robe costs about $125. The department hopes to debut the new robes next fall.
All donations are appreciated from district patrons, businesses and organizations. Make checks payable to the O-A/BC-IG Music Boosters and send them to:O-A/BC-IG Music Department, c/o O-A/BCIG Music Boosters, 900 John Montgomery Dr., Ida Grove, Iowa 51445.
Carstensen tapped for national checkoff group
Committee leadership was recently announced for the new Joint Beef Industry Committees that oversee the national beef checkoff programs.
Terri Carstensen, Odebolt, was appointed chair of the new Taste Committee which will develop strategy for beef promotion programs. Carstensen is currently chair of the Joint Advertising Committee and serves as a Federation director from Iowa.
“These appointees represent a cross section of the beef industry and I am confident that beef producers and importers of cattle, beef and beef products will be well served by them,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
BC-IG, O-A board agenda
The Battle Creek-Ida Grove and Odebolt-Arthur School Boards will meet in a joint session on Monday, Dec. 10, 6:30 p. m. at the middle school media center in Odebolt.
Dialogue/action items include: superintendent evaluation document, SBRC request for modified allowable growth, disposition of unwanted equipment-greenhouse at O-A and auditorium seats at BC-IG, and board goals.
